Homeschool Tips:
Here are some tips we’ve gotten from different families on how to make homeschool Fridays run smoothly:
Daily Reflection SheetUnanswered Questions ???-Complete your daily reflection sheet for your homeschool days
What questions do you have about what you learned this week? What would you like to know more about?
Language Arts-
1. Read:Read the assigned book three times.
First read:Parent reads aloud
Second read: Parent reads a page and then scholar reads a page
Third read:Child reads the entire book to the parent.
2. Complete the reading log for your assigned book. Don’t skip sections. Your scholar should complete each section fully. Check for spelling and letter formation, to be sure your scholar’s work is of excellent quality.
If you don’t have a book in your folder be sure your child reads for at least 30 minutes. This should be a time where your child reads aloud to you, not independent reading time.

Homeschool Tips:
Here are some tips we’ve gotten from different families on how to make homeschool Fridays run smoothly:
- Make a plan – Will your homeschool day mirror a classroom day? Will you tackle your most challenging assignments first, or complete the assignments you’re most comfortable with first?
- Set a timer – Setting a timer for each “class” helps scholars understand that their work time will not be unending.
- Communicate – If you’re unsure about an assignment, teachers are available by email until 3PM on Fridays. Find a study-buddy that you can reach out to.
- Communicate any difficulties you are having with work. Assignments can be modified to make them more manageable and can also be enriched for scholars who need more challenging assignments.
- Be flexible – Try different strategies until you find what works!
